Telford Magistrates Court was told that the victim had suffered knee ligament damage and had to wear leg braces and use crutches during his wedding day following the incident on July 24, 2023.
The court was told that there had been a great atmosphere in The Compasses in Corve Street, Ludlow, before Aidan James Jones got involved in a row over his victim cheating at an arm wrestling contest.
Self-employed mechanic Jones, aged 38 and of Churchstoke, Powys, pleaded guilty to one count of assault causing actual bodily harm during the attack.
Kate Price, prosecuting, said the victim had been punched so hard that he had gone down and damage was caused to his knees.
The victim had been out at a concert in Ludlow and went to The Compasses to enjoy a few drinks.
Ms Price read a statement made by the victim in which he described how Jones had come up to him and accused him of cheating, which he admitted to.
