Appearing before magistrates a Telford driver who drank three pints of cider before taking to the road said that he took  'all responsibility' for his actions.

Louis Daniel Cutler was seen driving a blue Ford Fiesta at 11.30pm on Wombridge Road, in Telford, on September 26, 2024.

Telford Magistrates Court, sitting on Tuesday, was told that Cutler was seen to be 'weaving in the road and taking bends quickly without notification.'

Police saw that the 25 year old had a 'glazed look and was slurring slightly', the court was told.

Two times the legal limit

Officers found that Cutler, of Woodhouse Crescent, Trench, in Telford, had a breath alcohol level of 66, nearly twice the legal limit of 45. He pleaded guilty to drink driving.

Cutler, representing himself, handed character references from his employer and told the court that he would be able to keep his £570 per week job.

“I take all responsibility,” he said. “It was completely out of character for me.”

The magistrates handed down a 17 month driving ban and fined Cutler £570.

He must also pay a victims surcharge of £228 and prosecution costs of £85.
