Renowned violinist returns to Shropshire for home county performance
A Shropshire musician known for his love of historical performance is returning to Shrewsbury for a special show with a very special instrument.
Conor Gricmanis grew up on a farm with his family near Bishop's Castle and started playing the violin in primary school when he was just five years old.
Since then, he has played in principal positions in orchestras at some of the most prestigious venues in Europe. At just 26, Conor became concertmaster violinist of the London Baroque Orchestra and tours with the esteemed Academy of Ancient Music.
At 27, he released his debut album, with his group, Noxwode an ensemble known for playing 17th and 18th century music on period instruments. Within a week of its release, the album was featured twice on BBC Radio 3.
