Last drink at a wedding proves costly for Newport drink driver as he is banned for a year

A man who had a drink with a bride and groom at a wedding before leaving has been banned from driving for a year.

Mark Douglas Evans, aged 61, of Adams Crescent, Newport, was snapped by an automatic number plate camera as having no MoT on the vehicle he was driving at the A49 at Battlefield, Shrewsbury on September 28, this year.

Telford Magistrates Court was told that he was stopped at 12.30am and breath tested after being stopped by the police.

Evans pleaded guilty to drink driving with a level of 47 when the legal limit is 35.
