The former Welsh gold shop closed its doors with much sadness in the summer citing the impact of the cost of living crisis as the reason for the decision.

The company confirmed some jobs were lost as a result of the decision to close the outlet at the bottom of Pride Hill, though it said it will offer roles to some staff "where possible".

It had opened in 2021

Ben Roberts, managing director of Clogau, said at the time: “The ongoing cost-of-living crisis is continuing to impact high street conditions, and sometimes we must make very hard decisions to ensure that Clogau is able to successfully navigate these challenging times.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the boutique staff for their incredible efforts and dedication in providing outstanding service to our customers."

Now the appearance of the blue 02 signs means it is confirmed that the telecommunications company O2 will be taking over the premises.
