Arron Ivor William Bate, aged 32, of Dickins Meadow, Wem, had been homeless when on September 23 this year he and another man went into the Tesco store at Whitchurch and stole some items.

Telford Magistrates Court was told that the sandwiches, crisps and cans of alcohol they took had a value of £57.60 but that amount has since been "resolved".

Bate pleaded guilty to shoplifting and has several shop thefts against his name.
