A5 opened following serious crash
The A5 reopened overnight after a serious crash involving a cattle truck.
National Highways confirmed the road, which was shut between Oswestry and Shrewsbury, had reopened before 3am.
The route had been shut shortly before 5pm yesterday after the emergency services were scrambled to reports of a serious crash involving two vehicles - one of which was described as a cattle truck.
West Mercia Police had asked drivers to avoid the area, with officers said to be carrying out investigations until the early hours of the morning.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, which sent four crews to the scene, said they had been called to reports of a crash involving two vehicles, in which a cattle truck had 'overturned'.
It added that there were 'believed to be two casualties'.
