Emergency services called to head-on collision near Church Stretton - three people in care of ambulance crews

Emergency services were called to a head-on collision involving two vehicles near Church Stretton this morning.

The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) received a call at 8.04am on Tuesday reporting the incident on the A49 near the hamlet of Marshbrook.

Two fire crews were sent from Church Stretton and Craven Arms fire stations to the scene. Land ambulance crews and West Mercia Police also attended.

Fire crews used small gear to deal with the incident, which involved two vehicles.

The SRFS incident log reports the crash was a "head-on collision".

Three casualties were reported to have self-extricated prior to the fire service's arrival and were in the care of ambulance crews.

Police have confirmed that nobody was seriously injured and no arrests were made.

Fire crews made vehicles and the surrounding area safe. The incident concluded at 8.22am.

A West Mercia Police statement said: "We were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A49 near Marshbrook shortly after 8.15am this morning. Nobody was seriously injured and no arrests were made."

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson added: "We were called just before 8am to a road traffic collision on the A49 from Upper Affcot to B437 in Marshbrook, Church Stretton. One ambulance attended the scene."
