Town clerk leaves council
A town clerk has stepped down, leaving a vacancy for a Shropshire town council.
Bridgnorth Town Council said they are seeking a new Town Clerk after the resignation of Clare Turner.
Mrs Turner will be leaving in early 2025. She has accepted a position with another local authority.
Mrs Turner joined Bridgnorth in 2022. In addition to coordinating the work of the team responsible for repairing the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway retaining wall, she has also carried out an extensive review of the council’s organisation and systems and has implemented changes which will benefit the town.
The mayor, Ian Wellings, said: “We wish to place on record our thanks for her hard work, energy and contribution during a very challenging time for the organisation. We wish her well in her new assignment.”
Work will begin immediately on the process to appoint a new Town Clerk.
