Last week, the last of the major works to the new roundabout on the A442 in Crudgington was completed while the busy A-road was closed for four nights.

Developer Shropshire Homes has been working on installing a new roundabout since February as part of works to build a further 55 homes on the site of a former factory.

Temporary traffic lights were set to be in place until November 24, but as of this week, the roundabout was fully open to traffic.

A Telford & Wrekin Council spokesperson said: “The new Crudgington roundabout is now open to traffic, with major works now complete.

"There are still some minor works that will be completed over the next couple of weeks, and we continue to monitor progress until all work is finished.”

It was confirmed that the minor works included additional street lighting and a couple of signs - including the replacement of a chevron after it appeared it was damaged in a collision not long after the road reopened.

A video, captured on a dashcam by a motorist on Wednesday morning, appears to show tyre marks on the new roundabout and the chevron sign knocked out of place.

Dairy Crest, which makes Cathedral City and Clover, closed the Crudgington factory in 2015.

Over 100 homes have already been built at the former creamery off the A-road north of Wellington, with construction underway on another 55 after permission was granted in July last year for the third stage of the development.
