After a frozen Thursday and Friday with its warning of icy weather, it is set to be a stormy Saturday and Sunday as Bert brings snow on high ground to be followed by high winds and a deluge of rain.
Mixed with rapidly melting snow, there is the prospect of travel disruption and flooding.
A 24 hour yellow weather warning associated with Storm Bert has been put in place starting at 6am on Saturday. The warning area includes the western half of Shropshre, all of Powys, Wrexham and Herefordshire.
