Shropshire Council has announced that Plaish Bridge, that carries an unclassified road over the Hughley Brook between Plaish Park junction and Day House Farm junction, will be closed on December 2.

Maintenance work to be carried out includes removing vegetation from the structure, general repointing and repairs to impact damage to the downstream parapet.

To carry out work safely, the council said it will be necessary to close the bridge to vehicular traffic between 8am and 4pm.

While the bridge is closed, traffic will be diverted via local roads and a signed diversion route.

Access to the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained throughout the work.

The work will be carried out by Shropshire Council’s term maintenance contractor Kier with supervision provided by WSP on behalf of Shropshire Council.
