Driver escapes serious injuries after bus and car collide in Market Drayton town centre

A man sustained "minor injuries" after a bus and car collided in Market Drayton town centre on Thursday night.

The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 7.46pm last night reporting the incident on Stafford Street in Market Drayton.

Two fire crews were sent from the North Shropshire town's fire station to the scene as well as an operations officer. Police also attended the incident. 

SRFS incident log reported that the incident was a "low speed" road traffic collision between a saloon car and a bus.

Nobody was found to be trapped inside the vehicles, and the incident was left with police.

West Mercia Police confirmed that the driver of the car sustained minor injuries.

A spokesperson said: "Police were called to a collision involving a car and a bus close to Asda on Stafford Street, Market Drayton at around 7.35pm last night (November 21). The man driving the car sustained minor injuries."

Crews also attended from Staffordshire Fire Service.

The incident concluded at 8.16pm.
