Some locals in Newtown, Mid Wales were unable to make calls from their landlines this morning (November 22) and have been advised to use other devices if they need help from emergency services.
In a post on X, Heddlu Dyfed-Powys Police wrote: "There are problems affecting landlines in the NEWTOWN area. Some members of the public may be unable to make outgoing calls including to 999 from their landline.
"In an emergency, use a mobile to call 999 or report non-emergencies online."
It is not stated what caused the disruption. BT have been contacted for a comment.
