The piece by Graham Andrews will be showcased alongside many of his other creations and art from other local artists at St Mary's Church on Saturday.

The Christmas fair has previously welcomed between 200 and 300 people, and organisers are inviting residents to join them again for another spectacular showcase between 10am and 4pm.

Mr Andrews' piece shows a newsagent at Hamer Hill receiving their delivery of Shropshire Star newspapers from a Commer Van. The artist was inspired to create his piece as his mother used to work in the shop.

Also at the Christmas fair will be retired fireman, Paul Evans from Shrewsbury. Mr Evans has written a book called "Steaming Through Life" and will be on hand to sign copies and tell stories of the steam era in Shrewsbury, including his experiences of when steam returned to the county town in October 1971 when the ban on steam engines was lifted.
