Developers have come back with a revised scheme to build 38 homes in Shrewsbury.

Living Space Housing has submitted the proposal on land to the west and south of Cedars Drive in Shrewsbury, with a reduction of six properties following feedback received by Shropshire Council’s case officer.
A planning and design statement says that, despite it being outside the town’s development boundary, it is still considered in principle to be an acceptable location due to the proximity of local services.
“Shrewsbury and the wider county currently have a significant undersupply of affordable housing and therefore the provision of a 100 per cent affordable scheme in this context would weigh heavily in favour of the proposal,” reads the statement.
It adds that the proposed site access is safe and suitable to serve the proposed development, and the scheme would not have a detrimental impact on the local highway network.
