Joseph Harvey, 32, was jailed earlier this year for his part in a gang who were moving cocaine and heroin into Telford from Slough.
Now Harvey, formerly of Heath Road in Wellington, has appeared in court over a separate offence - pleading guilty to one charge of possession of an offensive weapon.
Shrewsbury Crown Court was told that the offence related to an incident on August 10, 2020.
Tom Walkling, prosecuting, said that police in Telford had seen the defendant driving a black Seat Leon.
After a decision to stop the car they searched Harvey and found a one-and-a-half-inch bladed weapon, described to the court as a 'push dagger'.
