Emergency services called to serious 'head on' crash near Shrewsbury

The emergency services have been dealing with a serious head-on crash.

The crash took place near Rowton, on the A458 between Shrewsbury and Halfway House, shortly before 6pm, and reportedly involved two vehicles.

The police, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, and West Midlands Ambulance Service have all been sent to the scene.

An update from the fire service said the incident involved "two vehicles in a head on collision".

It added that firefighters from two crews were working to help a person trapped in one of the vehicles.

Reports from locals on social media said that the road had been closed to deal with the incident.
