West Mercia Police officer and Oswestry PCSO Robert Hamer posted on the force's Neighbourhood Matters page reporting the incidents.

The post said that "one specific" tag has been sprayed on "many" surfaces in streets and alleyways within the town centre.

The police officer reported: "Recently the streets and alleyways of Oswestry town has seen an increasing amount of graffiti. One specific tag is being used and has been sprayed on many surfaces within the town centre.

"Graffiti-related crimes can result in fines, prison, or community service orders.

"Removal of illegal graffiti is costly for property owners and local governments. The presence of graffiti can negatively impact feelings of safety and indicate a decline in public space quality.

"Graffiti can lead to a decline in property values in affected neighbourhoods and areas with high levels of graffiti may be seen as unattractive for business investments.
