Kington Town Council’s budget for 2024/25 includes provision for support for Kington Recreation Ground Trust.

The support is through a combination of grant payments for running costs and includes provision for a salary support grant.

At a recent meeting, councillors were told that the Recreation Ground Trust income is primarily from cottage rent payments at about £433 per calendar month, with outgoings averaging £1,095 a month.

Town clerk Liz Kelso said it was proposed that a cash grant payment of £5,000 be paid to the trust to cover salary payments for the remainder of the current financial year.

Members agreed to transfer £5,000 to the trust.
