A Builth Wells councillor has urged colleagues to communicate better to benefit everyone.

Councillor Liam Hopkins said he believed there is a lack of communication between the council’s working groups.

“I just think we could all do with some more communication between the groups and I think it would help everyone if everyone communicates better, Councillor Hopkins said.

“It is not a criticism, I think its something that would benefit everyone. For example, the safety group, there has never been a report back about how that worked during the show and I don’t know what is going on with the Christmas lights group etc.”

Builth Wells Mayor Councillor Gwyn Davies suggested that Councillor Hopkins could email and be asked to be more involved.

But Councillor Lauren Pugh said: “Sometimes I think we should review the council’s actions before we move on with other actions. We should check what has been done because the work should not fall on one person’s shoulders.

Councillor Mark Hammond agreed and said the council should be using their action plan more often to check on their own progress.
