Santa and his sleigh will be helped by the Newport Rotary Lite elves at half a dozen locations between now and Christmas, visiting streets and supermarkets and raising money for good causes.
In previous years the funds raised by the tour have gone towards a new Community First Responder vehicle, the X-Ray appeal for a new machine, Newport and village schools, 'community cuppa' sessions, a minibus for terminally ill children in Chernobyl, the Newport Foodbank, Ukrainian refugees and local Scouts and Rainbows groups.
Last year, the group raised a staggering £2,500 in the first week of a tour of Newport and the surrounding villages.
But a spokesperson for the club said it wasn't just about the money.
They said: "We raise lots of money for the community, but to be honest it's not just about the money - it's about the smiles and the kids and the older people."
From 5.30pm today (Tuesday), the sleigh will tour Broomfield Road, Greenacres Way, Hallcroft Gardens, Broomfield Close, Broomfield Place, Polly's Lock, Longford Road and Farm Grove.
On Wednesday, December 4, it will visit Masons Place, Avon Dale, Fair Oak, Islington Close, Brook View, Harvest Close, Strine Way, Bracken Way and Chetwynd Grove.
On Thursday it will tour Daniels Cross, Farriers Green, Shepherds Court, Drovers Way, Ploughmans Croft, Ben Jones Avenue, Tomkinson Close, Saxon Drive and Pallisade Close.
