Goldstone Hall Hotel & Gardens’ owner John Cushing said he was “absolutely delighted to welcome the BBC Gardeners’ World team to film at Goldstone.”
Based in Market Drayton, Goldstone Hall Hotel & Gardens is a family-run country house hotel, with 12 bedrooms and five acres of gardens, including one acre of a productive kitchen garden.
The hotel produces and uses many ingredients from the kitchen garden like rhubarbs for crumbles, apple juice, and garlic bulbs.
Currently, the kitchen garden is being redeveloped for 2025, with a new sustainable composting area and a new plant sales area to join the garden.
The garden will feature on the popular programme on Friday, December 6, where Carol Klein takes a "sensory stroll through the gardens".
The Gardeners World website added: "Buzzing with insects, this is a planting scheme that doesn’t just draw you in with its beauty but also its scent, texture and taste."
The gardens had been started by Mr Cushing’s mother, Helen Ward who devoted her passion for gardening into transforming it anew.
It is now managed by head gardener Ross Underwood, who also features as a regular on the BBC Radio Shropshire Gardeners’ show.
He is supported by kitchen gardener, Sarah Smith-Roe, who supervises the developments of the kitchen garden.
During 2025, the Goldstone garden will be opened for non-residents every Monday to Thursday from March 24 to October 31 from 10am to 5pm, excluding any private events or the National Garden Scheme open days.
Tickets cost £8.50 per adult and children’s admission is free.
