Legendary British pop musician had £5,500 of equipment stolen by Telford thief in service station van raid

A British music legend’s had his keyboards and equipment worth more than £5,500 stolen by a Telford thief.

Rick Wakeman CBE, who was keyboard player for the popular 80s band Yes, had his gear stolen from his van on the Frankley services off the M5 in Birmingham on December 7, 2022.

The 75-year-old ended up having to play a gig at Birmingham Town Hall with just a piano after Keyley Haden stole his equipment.

Altogether, items the 27-year-old stole included pedal boards, a rack drawer, a Focusrite Scarlett audio interface, a Kenton Wireless midi radio system, a rack mount, a JAstageComms system, IEC main distribution board, Korg x5dr sound module synthesiser, a support pro stand, midi panels, a power supply for the Korg Triton rack module, a microphone stand, a K&M music stand, a Kenton Midistream midi system and a Roland Integra, to the combined value of £5,105.

Some of the items were recovered, but not all.
