The 15ft tall Nordman fir that is gracing Downing Street came from Evergreen Christmas Trees, an award winning business near Clun.
The company gained the prestigious prize after the British Christmas Tree Growers Association named it the accolade of Champion Christmas Tree Grower of the Year.
The tree was loaded on a truck and driven into London in the dead of night in time to be put in position outside the traditional residence of the Prime Minister.
“It was nice to get our name on the board,” said business owner Stephen Reynolds.
