A 21-year-old Shifnal man faces a trial at crown court after pleading not guilty to charges of rape and controlling/coercive behaviour in a relationship.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Tuesday where two charges were put to him and were denied.
Judge Paul Glenn was told that the charges refer to behaviour between May 2023 and October 2024 and allege that he deleted her male contacts from a phone and included controlling and coercive behaviour.
