Mark Vaughan, aged 54, lifted two diffusers worth a total of £68 from the shop in Telford town centre.
The theft was described as “unsophisticated” by prosecutor Kate Price at Telford Magistrates Court, who said a police officer recognised Vaughan and arrested him. The stolen items were recovered and returned to the shop.
“He’s no stranger to the courts,” added the prosecutor, who said that he has 12 offences on his record and that he has been subject of a drug rehabilitation requirement and a criminal behaviour order.
