The vandal has targeted the Shrewsbury office of the Labour MP for the town, Julia Buckley.
Parts of the office, which is based on Wyle Cop, have been covered in black paint - obscuring the Labour Party logo along with Mrs Buckley's face.
Posting on social media Mrs Buckley, who was elected in July, said the incident had been reported to police.
She said: "My Parliamentary office was vandalised last night.
"Fortunately we have high security, alarms and CCTV cameras.
"I have reported the incident to the police and will be providing the camera footage as evidence to support any prosecution.
"My office staff have the right to work without intimidation, and all incidents against parliamentary staff are taken very seriously."
West Mercia Police confirmed the force is investigating the incident.
A spokesman for the force said: "We’re currently investigating criminal damage at a local MP’s office in Wyle Cop after it was vandalised with black spray paint overnight.
"Officers are currently at the address carrying out enquiries and obtaining witness statements.
"Anyone with information should contact police by emailing philip.parke@westmercia.police.uk."
