Two in hospital after car crashes into bridge near Rhayader - Police appeal for information

Two people are in hospital after a BMW crashed into a bridge in Mid Wales and police have launched an appeal for witnesses.

A white BMW M235 hit the bridge outside Simon Price Cars on the A470 just outside of Rhayader, on Tuesday.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said officers are “appealing for witnesses who may have information about a road traffic collision that took place on the A470 just outside of Rhayader, towards Builth Wells at around 1.30pm on Tuesday (December 3).

“The incident involved a white BMW M235 colliding with the bridge outside Simon Price Cars, causing serious injuries to the two occupants of the vehicle. Both individuals remain in hospital at this time.

“Did you witness the collision?

“Anyone with information or dashcam footage that could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it to police using the contact methods below.”

Businesses and residents along the A470 at Wye View Terrace and South Street are also asked to get in touch if they have CCTV footage captured during that time.
