Posting on social media, Attingham Park said that a number of events planned for the venue had been called off - as well as one at Sunnycroft.

Attingham Park will also be closed to the public completely for tomorrow - Saturday, December 6, over concerns for visitors safety.

The popular venue said it will be carrying out a phased re-opening for pre-booked ticket holders from 10am on Sunday - December 8, as its rangers carry out post-storm safety checks.

A post on the Attingham Park social media page said: "Due to the severe weather warnings of high winds from Storm Darragh, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel events and adjust site operations this weekend for everyone’s safety."

The cancellations include Attingham's 'Christmas at the Mansion' and 'Attingham at Dusk' which were due to take place tomorrow - Saturday, December 6.

The venue also confirmed that the Father Christmas at Sunnycroft event will be cancelled "on Saturday 7 Dec and until 3pm on Sunday 8 Dec".

Regarding the plans for re-opening Attingham on Sunday the venue said: "If safe, Attingham Park will only be open for pre-booked ticket holders.

"We do not currently anticipate any impact on bookings for Christmas at the Mansion on Sunday, but please check our social media for live updates."

The venue said that all those with affected bookings will be contacted by the central box office team to formally cancel and issue refunds.

People can rebook for alternative dates for Christmas at the Mansion and Father Christmas at the Mansion with details on the Attingham website.
