The new guide covers 11 of Telford's 'Coronation Walks', a set of routes that were designated, designed and signposted by the hardworking volunteers of the Friends of the T50 50-mile Trail.

The Friends of the T50 reunited in 2023, five years after Telford's 50-mile route was born, to work on the Coronation Walks project. As part of Telford's celebration of King Charles' coronation in that year, the group planned 23 accessible walks in and around Telford to showcase what the town - and its constituent towns - have to offer walkers of all ability levels.

"These walks range in length from two to five miles and are very accessible and well-signposted," said Jean Escott on behalf of the Friends of the T50. "This has been an exciting project which involved a team of walkers to both design and signpost the walks.

"Anne Suffolk, who wrote the T50 guide six years ago, has been tasked with producing the guidebooks for the Coronation Walks. On Saturday (December 7) in Southwater Library, the first of the two Telford Coronation Walks guidebooks will be launched at 11am.

"This first book will cover all the walks south of the M54, from number 13 to 23, and the cost will be £5.

"Anne will be available [at Southwater] to sign the books between 11am and 1pm - and for those who would like to experience a Coronation Walk on the day, the two-mile accessible walk 16 in the Town Park and the full three-and-a-half-mile walk 16 in Randlay Valley are available.

"After the launch event the guidebook will be available on the Telford Coronation Walks website."
