Severn Trent customers in the Shrewsbury, Oswestry, the TF13 area of Telford, Clee Hill near Ludlow and Tenbury Wells all have issues.

Helen Morgan, the North Shropshire MP said on Facebook that she has spoken to Severn Trent and people registered as vulnerable should be receiving water after six hours.

But a large area has been affected and there is a limited supply of delivery vans.

Mrs Morgan said: “People registered as vulnerable should be able to receive bottled water once they have been without supply for six hours, But there are huge areas affected and a limited number of delivery vans.”

She added: “Everyone else should be able to receive bottled water after 12 hours, with the same caveat.

“The cause of the outage is power failure to pumps and they are hoping power will be restored sooner rather than later.”

A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “Storm Darragh in our region has meant that you may be experiencing no water, poor water pressure or discoloured water.

“This could be due to an issue with boosters that pump water around your area caused by interruptions to the power supply.

“Our engineers are working with electricity providers to resolve the issue and get your water supply back to normal as quickly as possible.

They say a website will be updated as they receive more information.
