The Shropshire one-day show for all the family has been a summer centrepiece for decades – and 2025 is already looking set to be a bumper year for showgoers.

The show will take place on July 12 at the Chetwynd Deer Park.

Headliners this year include the Shetland Pony Grand National, and television chef and author Juliet Searle.

Show Organiser Sally Western said: “There’s so much planned for next year’s show already – and there’s much more to come!

“Wonder baker Juliet has cooked for celebrities, appeared on This Morning and Sunday Brunch, and is a best-selling author.

“We can’t wait to welcome her to Newport – where she will be joining a packed programme, with a mix of fantastic new attractions – and some family favourites, too!”

For the first time, the show will have a countryside sports arena – featuring laser clay shooting, falconry talks and handling, BASC Displays and the BASC Gun Dog Scurries.

The scurries – which see dogs competing to pick up dummies - include the obstacle, the long retrieve and the multi pickup.

Each are open to gundogs for prize entries and are timed from when the dog crosses the start line, ending when all the dummies and the dog return over the line. The run is void if the handler crosses the line or if the dog leaves the gun dog scurry arena.

Sally added: “It’s fantastic to have these new competitions and displays – falconry has been a huge hit in the main ring before and we’re certain that the gun dog scurries will prove a hit, both with the entrants and with the audience too!”

Also new for 2025 will be the Magical Musical Bike, and the Got 2 Sing Choir.

The Magical Musical Bike will be touring the crowds, playing tunes, blowing bubbles, and involving the audience in silly games, circus skills, singing, and joke telling, Meanwhile the Got 2 Sing Choir from Telford is one of a group of community choirs from across the Midlands who come together each week to sing beautiful songs, meet new people and have plenty of fun and laughter along the way – including at next year’s show.

Sally added: “As ever, there’ll be lots of fantastic food, shopping, and our beloved Horticulture and Handicraft marquee – it really does promise to be a wonderful day out, and with our December ticket release, there’s a perfect chance for you to get Christmas presents sorted for friends and family!”
