The Shropshire Santa Run saw 500 red-clad clauses pound the streets of the north Shropshire town over a 5.1 km route on Sunday morning.
Alan Lewis, of Adrenaline Sporting Events, said he made several trips along the route, including at 3am, 7am and 8.30am to make sure the route was not blocked by fallen trees or huge amounts of water.
“If we had to cancel it we would have done,” said Mr Lewis. “We can't take the risk, safety is paramount.
