'It sounded like hail on the windows': Mum recalls sounds after Shrewsbury tree cracks in half during Storm Darragh
A mum whose house was hit after a tree dramatically split in half as the family watched a Christmas movie is now wary of the dangers the large plants pose.

Tiffany McCombs says she has been left with luckily only damage to tiles, guttering and a house sign after the tree split during the height of Storm Darragh on Saturday.
“It was an awful experience,” said Miss McCombs whose children are aged nine, seven and five live at Gloucester Road, in Shrewsbury.
“We had the TV on watching a Christmas movie at about 6.30pm. It was windy and all I heard was what sounded like hail on the windows as the branches were hitting it.
“A neighbour who lives four doors away was woken up by a loud bang.
