A social media post by Telford & Wrekin Police reported that a man fled PC Webb and PCSO Goodman on New Street in the Telford town during Tuesday.

Officers reminded residents that, although they are available to buy, E-Scooters are currently illegal to use on public roads, pavements cycle lanes and pedestrian-only areas.

The post showed a picture of the man's scooter and lunch from Greggs that he left behind when fleeing.

The E-Scooter rider's lunch was donated to a food bank by officers who have invited him to Wellington Police Station

The post said: "This is a kind reminder to the male who made off from Police Officer Webb and Police Community Support Officer Goodman, on New Street, Wellington, that you left your scooter and lunch at the scene.

"If you would like to make your way to Wellington Police Station and pick up your driving offence ticket we will be happy to help you out in understanding what has now happened to your Scooter and which food bank your lunch has gone to.

"This is also a reminder to the public, that E-Scooters are available to buy but they are currently illegal to use on public roads, pavements, cycle lanes and pedestrian-only areas."
