The past few days have again seen the Ironbridge Gorge impacted by flooding and disruption as a result of Storm Darragh.

Shaun Davies, Labour MP for Telford, raised the issue in parliament - describing the continuing impact as an 'economic hammer blow' for the area.

He said: "In the Ironbridge Gorge, a World Heritage Site in my constituency, it is the days after the storm as the river fills up from the water from Wales. Will the minister commit to ensuring areas like mine which are secondary get the attention from government, and will government departments ensure that the economic hammer blow that flooding causes communities like mine will be considered in any future grant applications by the local authority."

Responding,  Abena Oppong-Asare MP, The Parliamentary Secretary, Cabinet Office, said: "We are currently doing a review of the flooding formula which would address some of the issues he has raised."
