Market Drayton Town Council posted on social media this morning reporting the incident that occurred last weekend.

Pictures show that graffiti has been sprayed across cubicles and on toilet doors.

Residents with any information are being asked to contact West Mercia Police or the council.

Just last month, plans for the toilets, that have repeatedly been targeted by vandals, were decided and submitted to Shropshire Council.

After months of consultation, Market Drayton Town Council decided on a proposed renovation plan that will see a new layout and a total of five new "vandal-proof" cubicles installed with baby changing facilities in the men’s, ladies and disabled toilets.

Renovation will also see a space created for a future use to be determined.

Alongside the existing facility being quite dated, chair of the services & facilities department, Tim Manton said the public toilets have been subjected to large levels of vandalism during the past few years.

A post by the town council reporting the vandalism said: "The toilets at Towers Lawn were vandalized over the weekend. If anyone sees such incidents can they please contact the Local Policing Team or Town Council to report it."

West Mercia Police has been contacted for information.
