Storm Darragh: Update on flooding, power, water and transport problems across Shropshire

Flood warnings and alerts remain in place across Shropshire this morning as the region recovers from the impact of Storm Darragh.

River levels are now high but falling in Shrewsbury and Ironbridge but high and steady in Bridgnorth and rising towards Bewdley.

Flood warnings are in place at Bridgnorth, Hampton Loade and Highley, Ironbridge and Jackfield, Quatford, the Showground and The Quarry, Shrewsbury, the Wharfage, Ironbridge, Upper Arley.

Flood alerts are also in place across the county.

There remain problems with electricity and water supply for hundreds of people across the region.

Some 580 power customers of National Grid are without power in Shropshire this morning, and there are still issues with water booster pumps.

Another 337 were also without power in Powys but that is a huge reduction on previously.

Transport for Wales train services are also still affected.

A fallen tree between Ludlow and Craven Arms means services having to run at reduced speed.

Trains between Shrewsbury and Swansea are cancelled.

Transport for Wales has told customers to expect disruption to your journey on Tuesday due to the impact of Storm Darragh on the railway and our trains.
