Three requests for funding from national organisations have been noted by Rhayader Town Council.
The Wales Air Ambulance and the Urdd Eisteddfod all contacted the council recently to ask for some money.
The air ambulance said it is trying to raise £60,000 to update aircraft and to continue running the service.
The Urdd Eisteddfod asked for a donation towards its next event in 2025 at Margam Park.
Eisteddfod yr Urdd is Europe's largest Youth Festival. The Festival is a celebration of the Welsh language, culture and the wealth of young talent in Wales today. Each year approximately 15,000 children and young people come to compete.
Margam Park will be transformed into a vibrant area for children and young people from all over Wales and beyond.
In addition to the keen competing, there will be exciting exhibitions and activities in the GwyddonLe and the Art and Craft tent, and performance stages with dancers, live bands and groups entertaining all day, every day.
In a separate bid, The Urdd Eisteddfod asked for money towards summer camps. They are hoping to raise funds to enable up to 1,000 children to be able to take part in the camps and it would cost £220 to sponsor each child.
But members were reminded that the council now has a policy generally of not supporting national appeals for help. They said individuals are free to support the charities and groups themselves if they wish, but they feel tax payers money from Rhayader should benefit local charities, especially in these difficult financial times.
Members noted the requests.
