When will my rubbish be collected over Christmas? Latest bin collection dates for Shropshire, Telford and Powys

Bin collections across Shropshire are set to change during Christmas and the New Year - here are all the dates so you can make sure your bin gets collected.

Both Shropshire Council, Telford & Wrekin Council and Powys County Council have announced amendments to their usual bin collection schedules over the festive period.

Both of the local authorities have announced changes to collections between December 21 and January 4, with some collections earlier than normal, while some will be later than normal, and some will stay the same.

Changes come into effect from Saturday, December 21, and collections will return to normal on Monday, January 6.

Shropshire Council has urged residents to sign up for its garden waste collection service if they want their garden bin to be emptied, and their real Christmas tree to be taken away.

Meanwhile, Telford & Wrekin Council reminded residents that its household recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day.

Powys County Council region

The local authority issued a reminder to residents that said: "Please put your containers out on the usual day by 7.30am.

"Crews will not return for any boxes/bins/bags that are placed out late. If this happens, take your recycling and rubbish back in until the next collection day. Alternatively you can take recycling to your nearest household waste and recycling centre."
