New acts announced for opening show to Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival
Acts have been announced for a new show that will open Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival next year.

Mick Miller and Nina Gilligan will kick off the event on July 9 next year - a day earlier than in previous years.
St Mary's Church in Shrewsbury town centre will host the event and the act announcement follows a recent gala show launch.
The comedy festival aims to promote up and coming comedians as well as present and well-established artists.
Stars including Greg Davies, Joe Lycett, Russell Kane, Dan Nightingale, Adam Rowe and Thanyia Moore have all previously appeared at the popular event.
Mick Miller first came to prominence on the iconic ITV show 'The Comedians' along with great British TV favourites Roy Walker and Stan Boardman.
During the 1980s Mick co-hosted his own Saturday evening show on ITV called 'The Funny Side' along with Cheryl Baker and the late Mike Smith, and he has since been in constant demand on the on the theatre circuit.
The comedian continues to be a favourite on cruises and has appeared in IDEAL with Johnny Vegas, and in Peter Kay's Car Share.
Meanwhile, Nina Gilligan, who trained as an actor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, is known for being hilarious and lovable.
As a skilled writer, creator and improviser, Nina has written several comedy shows and plays including Rescued that was nominated for Best Comedy at Greater Manchester Fringe and Broad Shoulders that received five-star reviews at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival.
The comedian has also scooped several awards for her work, including 'Best Act' most recently at the Yorkshire Comedy Awards 2023.
Commenting on the event, SICF co director Beth McGowan said: "Our aim has always been to grow the festival in a sustainable manner, and this is a good starting point. We are looking forward to Mick and Nina’s performances and especially at a new venue for us in St Mary’s Church."
