Structural investigation work has been underway at the Three Fishes pub and an adjacent building in Bayston Hill since it was hit by a HGV in November.
Emergency services were called to the scene off the A49 at around 5.30am on Monday, November 11, after a Chilton Bulk Transport lorry smashed through the two buildings.
A lorry driver had to be cut free from the HGV, which had crashed into the corner of the home next to Hong Kong City Chinese takeaway and into the side of the Three Fishes pub.
Now, a spokesperson for National Highways has said that work to attempt to stabilise the pub's structure would not be enough - and that a portion of the building must now come down.
