A gun had also been found in Gaige Parkes' vehicle, but he had been acquitted of being the owner of the firearm at a trial earlier this year despite admitting that the knife and drugs were his.

Shrewsbury Crown Court heard on Wednesday (December 18) that the 24-year-old of Pool Hill Road, Dawley, had more than £10,000 of drugs in the car on April 7 this year.

Mr Kevin Jones, prosecuting, told the court that Parkes, who had earlier admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine and being concerned in the supply of cannabis, had 50 grams of the class A drug in the vehicle, worth up to £1,300, as well as more than £9,000 worth of cannabis.
