Ismet Prenci was found at the property by police officers in Yew Tree Road last month, after a gas engineer who had attended the address, called police.

Ms Alexa Carrier, prosecuting, told Shrewsbury Crown Court on Wednesday that when officers arrived, a rental van was seen leaving the address.

“The officers tried to stop the van but it made off, so the officers returned to the address,” she said, adding that Prenci was discovered attempting to flee the property from the rear of the address.

She told the court that the cannabis plants were found in “different stages of the growth cycle” in four rooms of the property.
