Horse rescued from river by firefighters

Three fire crews worked together to rescue a horse stuck in a river.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said it had been called to the incident, at Halford in Craven Arms, at around 8.18am today - Saturday, December 21.

Two fire crews and the rescue tender were sent to the scene from Church Stretton, Craven Arms and Wellington - along with a vet.

An update on the rescue revealed that the fire officers had managed to get the horse to safety using straps,

The fire service added that the horse had been left in the care of its owner following the rescue.
