A section of the downpipe on the lychgate is damaged and requires replacing with the remaining downpipe in need of straightening.

Kington Town Council took advice from the Diocesan office in September, and a specialist was  approached to inspect and provide advice on the repairs. A quotation for the recommended work amounts to £2907.50 excluding VAT. Councillors approved the expenditure on the lychgate, subject to formal approval being obtained for it.

The permission of the Diocesan office was required for this repair. The Faculty request has now been drafted by the Parochial Church Council on behalf of the council.

A notice has been placed on notice boards and at the church inviting members of the public to view the proposal which is available at the church and town council offices and submit comments no later than early January.
