Fire fighters release shocking picture of a car on its roof after Oswestry crash

A car ended up on its roof after a crash in Oswestry yesterday evening.

The two-car collision happened on the B5069 near The Sweeney Hotel, Morda, on the outskirts of Oswestry.

An Ellesmere Fire Station spokesman said: “Fortunately, all persons had self-extricated prior to our arrival. Stay safe.” Police were also on the scene.

Paramedics assessed casualties while firefighters made the vehicles electrically safe.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “At 7.09pm on Saturday, December 21, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a road traffic collision had taken place in Oswestry.

“Incident involved two vehicles, one which came to rest on its roof.”

Two fire engines were sent to the scene from Ellesmere and Oswestry. An operations officer was also in attendance.
