Firefighters called to Shropshire care home after fuse box catches fire

Firefighters were called to a care home in Shropshire after a fuse box caught fire this afternoon.

The incident happened at Wheatlands Care Home in Southfield Road, Much Wenlock.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that nobody was hurt.

A spokeswoman said: “At 12.57pm on Sunday, December 22, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as ‘property fire’.

“Fire involved an electrical fuse box. Out on arrival of crews.”

Two fire engines were sent to the scene from Much Wenlock and Telford Central. An operations officer was also in attendance.
