Horse rescued after getting stuck in iron gate in Market Drayton

A horse was rescued by firefighters after getting stuck in an iron gate.

The incident happened at Hopshort, Market Drayton this morning.

Crews were able to remove the animal safely.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “At 11.31am on Sunday, December 22, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as ‘animal rescue'.

“One small horse rescued from an iron gate.”

Three fire engines including the rescue tender were sent to the scene from Market Drayton and Wellington. An operations officer was also in attendance.
